  • Overview

    The Database Administrator will be responsible for supporting Enterprise Data Architect with database design, tuning, deployment and data management. As a member of Enterprise Data Architecture Team, this role will closely with Developers and Architects responsible for setup and management of analytical and transactional databases. This role also involves providing support to both internal and external customers on data and performance issues. Experience in development in addition to administration will be helpful as you team up with system administrators, application developers and business process leaders to provide project insight and direction.


    • Responsible for Database management (transactional and analytical).
    • Responsible for review, SQL query and performance Tuning.
    • Responsible for daily, weekly and Ad-Hoc Databases refreshes.
    • Responsible for troubleshooting performance issues in production databases.
    • Responsible for Analysis, development and maintaining logic and physical data models.
    • Design, develop and support database needs by working with business systems analysts.
    • Provide management of production systems in collaboration with Client Services and Product Development.
    • Provides support for development, test and production environments.


    • 3+ years of Database Administration experience with SQL and Shell scripting skills (required); Clustrix DB, MySQL experience (desired).
    • Proficient technical skills to include (SQL DDL and DML, ETL methodologies, TOAD, git, RDBMS, Scheduler, shell scripting).
    • Shell scripting is must and any other scripting such as python is preferred.
    • Professional experience in building data models.
    • Management of database backups, logging and related Admin tasks.
    • Perform database tuning for optimal performance.
    • Experience supporting Application and Analytical DB environment.
    • Experience in database replication, data streaming.
    • Technical experience should include Clustrix/MySQL administration, exposure to Hadoop, Data Lake and supporting development teams.
    • Maintains documentation of systems, policies and procedures.
    • Install, configure and upgrade database software and related products. Must have professional experience in handling one or more databases in RDBMS (Clustrix DB, MySQL, postgress, SQL Server or others) NoSQL (mongo, cassandra) and/or couchdb). Experience in Hadoop eco system is desired.
    • Experience in AWS Databases (Redshift, RDS) is highly preferred.
